HOW TO SEARCH THE WEB

[FIND GMC SITES] [FIND YOUR TOPIC] [SEARCH THE PAGE]

It is easy to get onto GMCnet and ask a question.  I encourage you to do this, however it is also easy to search  the web directly for the answer to  your question, and find your answer in seconds.  Here are some tips that I hope will help.  If you have any suggestions for these tips, please send them to me.

FIND  YOUR TOPIC
When you see a search box  enter your topic with the key word first.  The title above shows how the key words should be selected.   GMC comes first so that a search will eliminate all other types of manufacturers.  Motorhome is next so that the search will eliminate  cars, etc.  Most search boxes only do a good job with one word, so if you are looking for  GAS CAP, use CAP for the search since there will be fewer returns for cap than gas.

SEARCH THE PAGE

After you reach a page with GMC information, the best way to find your topic on the page you are looking at, is to use the CONTROL-F search.

Hold down the control key, and hit the F key.  A search window will open that will allow you to enter
a key word to search for.  This is a really fast way to find out if your topic is on the current page.  You can continue to hit the NEXT button, and quickly go through the page checking for your topic.

FIND GMC SITES

The very best way to find a GMC site is to use the links provided by the authors of most existing sites.  When you find a GMC site go to their list of links or favorite sites and click on the one you want to examine.  If you like it, save it in your favorites , or bookmark list for the future.
