Oh man what's this It's not Christmas yet but looks like I got a present here-- On man and just what I wanted. It's an intake-- and not just ANY intake -- it's a goodie , one of the first from Gary Rockwell, it's a real "Rockwell", the all new aluminum low plenum 455 intake a custom huge effort by Gary for the GMC community oh man and look-- no exhaust crossover !!!!! So you wonder what's the big deal-- I mean most think an aluminum intake is kinda flash for a low RPM pump motor. Oh no my friend, let me put it this way-- every motor we now build must have the intake sand blaster, magna fluxed to be sure there is only one crack (down the secondary port wall) then filled with zinc alloy then stainless steel block off plates added to keep the exhaust gases from doing any more damage to our precious carburetors than it already has. All of this is additional expense you can bypass if you use one of these new intakes. You must have a concave intake such as this to keep your engine cover level to the floor--there are NO aftermarket concave intakes--- until now. I'd like to thank Gary Rockwell for putting this very expensive process to make these together, tooling manufacture and machining these in quantities that make sense to our niche market is a real leap of faith. We will be using his intakes on all of our Crate roller Jasper engines in the future-- Gary, better warm up those castings again cause the GMC community is behind you 100%. How much? Hey, lets put it this way, compared to what we have been doing to original intakes to assure they will perform well, adding this awesome part is only maybe $300 more! I will have to check with Gary but I think they will go for $650. Now do not say that's too much-- remember, if you say no you will still have to spend $300 or so depending on what's wrong with your old intake. If you understand this having an all new intake custom made to not only make your motor run well but also to be cool is cheap! If you are interested in one of these, give me a call, Gary has more available very soon. Hey, lets show how much we appreciate his work by supporting him and get one of these if you are building up a new motor and even if you are not, check the wall between your secondary ports on your old intake and you will see why you need one of these-- it's cheap insurance to keep you from breaking down on the road.. |
